ALL BCDA MEMBERS WHO USE INTERNET ARE ASKED TO REGISTER HERE AND KEEP THEIR INFO UP TO DATE. This saves our volunteers valuable time and insures that our records are accurate and complete. Registration is required to join or
renew membership online OR use 'Pay for It Here' features. If you have
already registered in our web center as a BCDA MEMBER or GUEST, you may LOG IN now. If not, please REGISTER now.
| Technology
has forever changed the way we operate our political organizations and campaigns. In 2008, President Obama's campaign organization (and others of every size/both parties)
recognized that the old methods of managing news, data, activities and money were simply too slow, too inconvenient, too unreliable, too labor-intensive and too expensive to work in today's environment.
Although our new web center may look fairly ordinary, it is clearly designed to meet the challenges above in a simple, practical way. Here is an overview of what it does and how it works. |

DATA CENTER.
 | Rather
than having numerous hard-to-maintain databases and spreadsheets to
handle our email lists, membership info, dues, donations, attendance,
events, etc.(as we have in the past), our web center allows us to have
just one central, highly secure, easy-to-use online database. |
- Each individual user has access to their own individual, password protected 'account' where they may enter, view or update their info, join BCDA, pay dues, make donations, register or buy tickets for events, even purchase merchandise - at any time and without involving the services of a BCDA volunteer.
- Without
special software, each officer may access the web center from any
computer and work just with the data related to their official duties.
Only the President and webmaster have access to the entire web center.
- Contact information and other data provided by those registered at our web center are very secure and never shared with or sold to other organizations, including organizations and campaigns affiliated with the Democratic Party. By registering at our web center, you are consenting to be included on our email list. We do not send emails on a high frequency basis. However, if you do not wish to receive any email from us, you may log in and unregister at any time.
COMMUNICATIONS CENTER.
 | With
all our data and communication tools consolidated into one up-to-date, easy-to-use, highly secure
communications center, we can compose, schedule and send emails to
individuals and specific groups created in our database - such as current
members, past members, prospective members, donors, candidates, elected
officials, visitors to our web center, and more. What a giant step forward from our old spreadsheets and email lists! |
PURCHASING CENTER.
 | Joining
BCDA, paying dues, making donations, buying tickets for special events,
purchasing merchandise. Now all of this can be done online. Think of
the expanded reach and new opportunities we now have just by being
available 24/7 and accepting credit cards and PayPal.

MANAGEMENT CENTER.
 | For
our volunteers, officers, directors and webmaster - this is where it
all comes together. In addition to controlling access and features of
the web center, we can now run a wide variety of fast and accurate
reports - on projects, membership status, dues, growth, income,
demographics, and more. There is real value to simplicity, so we will
only implement those parts of the management center that are most
necessary. |
BOTTOM LINE - MAKING THE BEST USE OF VERY PRECIOUS TIME.
BCDA volunteers - our most valuable resource! | Our volunteers include members and friends who assist with
registration drives, GOTV (Get Out the Vote), phone banking,
canvassing, working in campaigns, writing letters, supporting fund
raisers, helping at Berkeley County Democratic Headquarters - as well as officers and directors with a host of ongoing and election season responsibilities.
Besides extending BCDA's reach, our new web center frees
everyone from considerable administrative work, allows us to use
precious volunteer time more effectively, and strengthens the focus on
our core mission.

Although BCDA is moving forward, we will NOT leave anyone behind. If
you don't use the internet, you can still print out a membership
application and fill it out by hand or pay your dues by cash or check
- just as before.
During the first several months, BCDA's web center will undergo some 'construction cleanup' plus additional customizing to make
it more useful and intuitive to members, volunteers, officers and
guests. However, your participation NOW will help speed up the process of having an accurate and complete database and strengthening our organization.
